Garden Cottage

Garden Cottage

Set in the quiet grounds of Farr House, the self-catering Garden Cottage is a comfortable and beautifully renovated property that is ideal for families and small parties.

As it’s name suggests, the Garden Cottage once housed the estate gardener. It backs onto a large and spacious lawn with swings for children and overlooks the original walled garden, now part of a community gardening scheme.

Sleeping arrangements

This property can sleep up to six guests. It comprises of two twin rooms (one with additional child-size bed) both with en-suite showers, and one ground floor double room with en-suite bath and shower.

Beautiful Bedrooms

Every bed is made up with crisp Egyptian cotton linen. We also have non-feather pillows available for those with allergies.

Enjoy stunning Highland views

Experience the beauty of our world-class flora and fauna. Golden eagles soar above the ancient Caledonian spruce woodlands where you can find stags, hinds and red squirrel year-round. You're only a 5 minute walk to Farr Loch with its rainbow trout or a short drive from Loch Ness and its famous monster!

Modern living in a historical setting

The beautiful setting of Farr feels unspoilt. With its expansive grounds, ancient woodland and views to the heather-clad hills, the traditional Highland landscape looks very much unaltered.

In 2014 there were even some bowls discovered nearby that dated back to the Iron Age, that still lie in the field behind the walled gardens.

Seasonal holiday visits

A winter booking at The Garden Cottage can be a real festive treat for all the family.  Enjoy getting away from it all and experience the comforts of home in beautiful rural setting.
